Organic in more ways than one

To follow our award winning Bee Sting, we put in place a unique and robust process for development of Australia's best beer. Not only did we decide to use certified organic malt and hops but we also created a tasting panel comprising some of the countries most notable luminaries in the fine food and beverage sector. Celebrity chef Ben O'Donahue, award winning author and co-host of "Fresh" Lyndey Milan, celebrated wine maker Rolf Binder of Veritas and sommelier Adam Foster have provided input to assist us in brewing a truly special beer. However the most important panel member has been the beer loving public. Your input during special tasting sessions has ensured the beer has developed organically into the best beer possible.

Independent and flexible

At Barossa Valley Brewery we are able to brew 1800 litres at a time. Our size and independence allows us to do things larger brewers can not, specifically listen to our customers and change our brews based on their wishes. For over a year we have done just that. After receiving thousands of comments during various tasting sessions, we have altered our Organic Ale many times. This is a time consuming process and a radical departure to how beer is generally made but we are determined to brew the best.

Worth the effort

Our Organic Ale was barely bottled (and still months away from release) before it won it's 1st award, a bronze at the Perth Beer Awards.  We are sure it is just one of many to follow.  Our Organic Ale is a big, bold American Pale Ale with a lovely floral nose and good hop length.  It can be enjoyed on it's own or will complement hearty full flavoured dishes with generous spice.  Just a few suggestions include, aromatic cheeses, Cajun dishes, spicy pizza, rich tasting poultry such as goose, duck, game or simply barbequed steak or lamb.
